Tannoy platinum F6

In my (apparently) never ending internet surfing of speakers, I happened upon the 2.5 way Tannoy F6 that Uncle Kevin has on sale for $395 each.  I truly am not even considering ordering a pair, but I was honestly curious whether anyone has heard them and if so do they sound as good as Uncle Kevin says they do?

2.5 way…that’s not is Tannoy known for. They made their mark with dual concentric drivers with an embedded horn.

As far as F6 goes, the design is fairly common. A 2.5-way with two 6.5" mid/bass drivers and a 1" silk dome tweeter. I am not suggesting that F6 is not good as Uncle Kevin says, but I would never buy a speaker unheard.

I've got a pair and they sound damn good. These speakers do piano's hauntingly good and I'm not exaggerating. Yes, Tannoy is known for their dual concentric loudspeakers but these were designed for the budget friendly audiophile that simply can't afford their much pricier speakers. They did a great job with these. Pretty neutral from top to bottom and play well with both SS and tube amps. They also produce pretty solid bass. Unfortunately, they didn't sell well so they're probably being discontinued because of the like-minded individuals like the only one that responded to your question, not ever listening to them and just simply, snobbishly judging them.. Seems to be typical in audio forums...

Thanks for the input, @cut10427 .  I read stuff on a lot of speakers, and I recakll that Uncle Kevin was raving about these and I was just curious, "How good can they be for $800/pair?"
