Does You Subwoofer Settings ??

Do most find that subwoofer settings are not perfect for every song you play ??

Last year went to a SVS SB16 Sub and 95 percent of songs it sounds beautiful.

But other songs has boomy sound and I have tinnitus and guess at times think it may be my hearing ...

But at times would like to get a professional in that understands all the adjustments the SVS has that I do not understand..

Do others have this issue or is it that Subs can not be adjusted for every song that is played and the way it was recorded causes this at times ???

Tried to correct title  Your Subwoofer Settings !!!

Because no two engineers mix music the same way, there is no one setting for subwoofers, but you can get close.  That said,  since I changed from KEF Reference speakers to Sonus Farber Amati speakers, I am finding I’m not using the one SVS SB2000 Pro I have as much.

I had the old SVS SB 2000 duals...You had to get up make adjustment and sit and did not understand what I was buying purchasing the SB16 with App...This one Subwoofer makes me happier than my dual SB2000's..When I shut the woofer off today to listen to my Main's and then bring woofer sound back into match mains I knew I had it to high and still need to lightly balance slightly..But understand what you are saying without subwoofer and just. playing music and hearing pure music without a Sub at times could be a nice change at times..Enjoy You Music.

I didn’t see it mentioned, but a 16" subwoofer may not be ideal for music reproduction compared to a 12". I haven't heard the SVS 16 myself, but when I was shopping for subwoofers, I was advised against going with a larger one for my needs: about 90% music and 10% movies. (I currently have four smaller subs 12", and bass is sublime) Getting the sub placed correctly (do the sub crawl with an 80hz test tone playing. Play with phase and XO; if you have distance delay, play with that too. Sorry if this isn't helpful.

The SVS SB16 sounds more natural than my Dual SB10 's I had..

Like anything you get time time time to set it up and settings..

I am sure my tinnitus does not help in setting it up for my ringing at times is high and lower at times ...Makes what you think your hearing questionable..But I ask the question to see how others felt  with their subwoofers...And as you see lots of responses..But placement seems to be biggest of them...And its hard to get everything in right place when room was not designed for higher end audio gear and trying to get higher end quality sound...I am blown away with my system and as you know I am sure you are never totally satisfied and think I can get more from what I have..If its moving speakers, rolling tubes etc...I am very happy with SB16 do I wish I could adjust it little more for certain songs yes but 95% happy..

Thank You and will come back for references at times here.
