How does bi-wiring work?

I tried (WBC) jumpers on my AZ Satori Shotguns.  I hear exactly what you describe.  It's not subtle, they're staying!  Thanks for the tip.

I did the same thing (WBC jumpers) with my shotgunned B&W 805s.  I think it sounds better, but I did a couple of other things at about the same time. It certainly didn't hurt.

I am late to the party here, but if anyone is still monitoring: I use Kimber bi-wiring cable with no jumpers (bananas connectors). Evidently doubling up with Kimber jumpers (spade terminals) could be worth the expense, even if no one knows quite why this works?

I recently converted my DIY Mogami W3104 cables into a bi-wire configuration for my Sonus Faber Olypica Nova V speakers removing the stamped metal jumpers. I immediately heard increased detail and was actually shocked, because I wasn't expecting it.  Unfortunately, I am not completely sold on this setup as it appears a bit too bright at higher levels now.  I need to do some more listening sessions to decide if it was just that particular album or two or if the metal jumpers are going back in.
