Should people with no turntable or reel to reel be considered audiophiles?

Just like those driving a Porsche SUV can join PCA (digital audio fans can join Audiogon) but are certainly not Porschephiles unless they also own a coupe (Panamera owners I guess gets a pass here).

No R2R’s. Regret not purchasing one when I was overseas in Japan while in the Navy. All the gear in the early 70’s was state of the art back then. Marantz, Sansui, Pioneer, etc. Same for camera gear, another money pit, if you decided to begin photography. And available at a modest price.

But in my adult life I’ve owned too many turntables to count. The Oracle Delphi probably my favorite. I don’t feel you must own a TT to be considered an audiophile. But it’s pure enjoyment if you do. And it’s okay with me if a TT isn’t your thing. Stock car racing isn’t my thing. Different strokes for different folks. Viva La difference.

I have a turntable. I don't know if I have an Audiophile Card, but if I do can someone tell me where I go to relinquish it. Or can I just burn it?
