The Music Room - Boulder Colorado

This vendor has a lot of favorable comments - but I have had a very unfavorable experience with them this Dec 2019. I have sent all my trade items & $400 via PayPal to them (per our email agreement) - all of which The Music Room has been confirmed to have rec’d. Despite my many emails they do not get back to me on the status of my trade shipment of a Rega turntable. I have called them multiple times - I cannot recommend that you deal with The Music Room, and currently I do not believe that they are legit. If they don’t make right in the next day or so I will have to file a complaint with the BBB.

I remember negotiating with TMR when selling a piece of equipment.  They said by dealing with them that I "would avoid the hassle of dealing with low ball offers".  Their offer was way beyond low ball, and I ended the conversation after that statement.

Is there a better place to deal with that provides same level of service or better?

@yowser  OMG same thing happened to me. They say you wouldn't have to worry about low ball offers and make me such a ridiculous low ball offer! All I could say was "Thanks" and hung up the phone.

You will never make top dollar selling to a reseller.

The value comes in by making the transaction relatively easy and low risk.

For top dollar reselling you have to do the work involved yourself.

Always good to have options with the usual pros and cons.

Same experience here as many have posted. Had an excellent experience buying from them. Good price and excellent service. Their offers to buy components are low and you are much better off selling on your own if you are willing to do the legwork. I don’t plan to sell to them. They are a good service for those who don’t want the hassle, are inexperienced in this hobby or someone who inherits an estate to deal with. Convenience, service and expertise comes at a $ cost.
