Went to an amazing concert last night.  Searched the topic and the threads I saw didn’t match so starting a new discussion.  What was your most recent concert?

I Saw the Experience Hendrix show at Lynn Auditorium which is near Boston.  An all-star lineup of musicians playing Jimi Hendrix songs.  They had a group of 15 musicians playing in different combinations.  Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Johnson, Zakk Wylde, Marcus King, Devon Allman, Ally Venable and others shredded for over 2 1/2 hours.  Highly recommend if you can catch the tour.  Next Up is Robin Trower this summer still touring at 80.

Robert Plant with Alison Krauss last year in Syracuse, NY. Yeah, he's getting older but it was a great time. 7th row center. It was good to hear some live Zep again. Other songs were great too.

Saw Kraftwerk at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago on Saturday.   What a disappointment.   The volume was simply too loud.  The bass was physically oppressive and muddy.  The highs caused me to wince.  It was not possible to discern details at any frequency.  Last night my wife and I streamed the same songs on Qobuz and were mesmerized.   It was good, really good.  I guess Kraftwerk figured that the audience wanted slam.  What a shame.

Bummer that the sound wasn’t good at a theater that I assume has good acoustics.  My old guy ears are more sensitive than ever.  I bought a pair of Zound earplugs for my most recent concert because I find indoor concerts are so loud and my old plugs weren’t cutting it.  (I’m sure there are other good brands).  The only time I don’t wear earplugs is at outdoor shows.  I love live music but I need to be able to hear my stereo when I get back home.
