Harman Kardon HD 7400 Displays E, won't play
The player has been sent back to the folks who did the work on it. I'll report whatever they tell me is the problem in the hopes that it may help somebody else.
Mid-Fi, Hi-Fi or.....?
Are your ears happy? If so, you're in the highest of Hi-Fi worlds.
Harman Kardon HD 7400 Displays E, won't play
Well I will if needed. I figured I would ask about the situation here first. If it's something really simple, it would save the time and cost of shipping it back and forth again.  Also, I'm certain it tested out perfectly fine before they sent it...
Revisiting Chinese Knockoff Cables
My own conscience says never buy a knockoff of anything. It cheats the people who took the time and money to develop a good product. I do not have an unlimited budget though. What I did was get a very nice set of speaker cables when they went on ...

Quality of Sirius XM
I have Sirius-XM hooked up to my main system. It does not sound nearly as good as CD's. But it is useful for hearing things I don't own or haven't heard in years. If something really catches my attention, I buy the CD and enjoy it more. FM is al...
Are you on or off? What say you?
+1ibmjunkman "Never got on. Happy with my reconditioned 1970s gear." My stuff is from 1990. Almost done getting it all refurbed and upgraded. Then I'll be good for 30-40 more years. More than I'll be around! I am now getting into making what I...
power cable
Yes builder3. Chords are for music. Cords are for electrical purposes. But then the power chord comes in. "A power chord play is a colloquial name for a chord in guitar music, especially electric guitar, that consists of the root note and the fi...

After I purchased speaker cables from Morrow Audio I received an offer to sign up for their Tweaks Newsletter. I received the first one and it was pretty basic ( what the OP wanted ) yet informative. It quickly and informatively described treating...
My High End Audio Gear As A Long Term Investment!!!
In 1990 I bought the best audio equipment I could afford. It is much better than I had ever had before. I have had it ever since. I enjoy it. Now, 33 years later, some of the equipment has started to fail. I am almost done sending stuff out to ha...
10 gauge power cord. Too much power for tube amp?
If you do end up sending it in to McIntosh for repair bear in mind I'm told it's a 1 year wait at the moment for non-warranty repairs. This came directly from an employee.
Equalizer in a Hi Fi system
I had a Soundcraftsman 15 band per channel EQ that added noise to my system. I now have a Harman Kardon EQ8 that is dead quiet when in use, but.... I had a guy who's a professional musician, piano tuner etc. play with it for over an hour. I test...
LIST ALL YHE SPEAKERS YOU HAVE OWNED THEN TILL NOW!
1. Whatever came with the Sansui rack system I "rented to own" when I was 16. 2. JBL L80t's that quickly replaced the Sansui speakers. 3. JBL L100t's, bought new 39 years ago, woofers re-foamed recently, still have. 4. JBL L100t3's, bought used ...
21 year old AV receiver - waiting for the end?
My Harman Kardon Citation 22 amps, Citation 25 preamps, and Citation 23 tuners are over 30 years old. Same with my HK CD players. Over the past year or two some things started to fail. I'm almost done getting everything refurbished. Some things a...
