Are there any recording artists you just can’t listen too?

For me there is one that has always been top of the list.

Edith Piaf…..l just can’t think of anything worse.

Do not get me wrong and consider my choice is in any way racist….l love to listen to music with songs in any language… Italian, French, Spanish…..

Russian and German can however be extremely demanding, but Edith Piaf (if possible in any language) is a potential harrowing experience.

Do any others on here have a similar artist, or artists that can trigger the same physical reaction?

If there is any validity to the many silly responses, it appalls me how narrow the bandwidth of so-called music lovers.

Tom Wait

Uh, wait for what? Wait for Godot? Wait a table?

But seriously, I don't understand why a gravelly voice like Tom Waits or the nasal voice of Bob Dylan dispels so many. I once had a friend who boasted of his pitch perfect singing voice (which he did not really have), loved CSN&Y for their beautiful harmonies, and loved to express his hatred for Bob Dylan's nasal voice. Well guess what, I find CSN&Y incredibly boring.

Bob Dylan is quoted often for things he probably did not really say, but one of those quotes is along the lines of "I can do more with my limited voice than most singers can do with their perfect voices" and he was right.

Let me also say this-flaws add character. Perfection is often boring. Donald Fagen of Steely Dan pretty much ruined most of Steely Dan's best records by seeking perfection in the studio. Without a few rough edges here and there the sound is lackluster.

Just my thoughts. Lou Reed was hardly a great singer but his recordings have withstood the test of time. Same with Iggy Pop and countless others.

@dayglow I'd more than suggest at least some of the dislikes based on political views.  While I find Kid Rock insufferable have to admit I liked a few of his songs prior to knowing his political affiliation or world views. I wasn't much of a Bruce Springsteen fan  back in the day, have come to appreciate him more over time. How about Lee Greenwood, someone's fav, my least fav.
