Recently, my primary desktop computer suffered a catastrophic meltdown due to a virus and as a result, I had to completely wipe the HD and reinstall a fresh copy of Windows (Vista Ultimate). The good news is, I had all my music (FLAC) files stored externally on a WD 1TB hard drive.
Once I formatted the computers HD, reinstalled Windows and downloaded WinAmp the FLAC Files will no longer play. To the best of my knowledge, both Vista Windows and WinAmp are updated and using the latest drivers, ect.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
No, the decoder was not in the list of dll files. Earlier, after posting the thread I noted that FLAC files were not amongst the supported file types within the WINAMP program. I then downloaded the appropriate plug in and voila! Music.. Thanks by the way for the advice, I don't know how I managed to overlook this earlier. Cheers, Chris
