l just noticed you posted from an old discussion. Many years down the line. I have made that mistake not noticing the original date.
l am still using a Cambridge Audio 752BD. I use it for Blu-ray, and SACD.
l have a 7.2 Yamaha Avente 3030 system (in conjunction with a Cambridge CXA60 for Stereo fronts) The 752 internal DACS do a grand job with SACDs and multi channel line outs. I pre out the front channels via Yamaha to the CXA and divert the sides channels to the rear speaker inputs on the Yamaha to get the 5.1 speaker positions correctly reproduced. I have a pre set level on the CXA60 so when l adjust the Yamaha volume the sound on all channels remains equal.
The DACS in the 752 still do a lovely job and l’m keeping the 752 for the foreseeable future. I expect that’s why old Cambridge universal players keep their price on the second hand market. The CD play back quality is certainly of great audio quality as it stands up well against a Cambridge CXC CD transport.
Just wanted to answer your post partly because you are also commenting on my discussion today. The info may also help others thinking of what to do with their Oppo or Cambridge players. To not use the SACD function if you have an AV system is an opportunity missed.
