Turntables with auto lift at end of play.

Empire 698 uses a light sensor to activate the arm lift. I had one. It also came with a low mass arm tube. Empires were the best American belt-drive turntables. They are worth finding and restoring!

In the early 70’s, I sold the Empire 698  or 598 (can’t remember which)Troubador turntable.  When we stopped selling them, I could have bought our demo for Pennies on the dollar.   At the time I was a poor college student, paying for my books, car and insurance payment.  I passed on it and have always regretted it.

Any turntable with a manual arm  lifter … just add a tonearm lifter.   Products on the market include Audio-Technica AT6006R Safety Raiser, Douk Audio Automatic Tonearm Lifter, Q-Up Tonearm Lifter, and Little Fwend HIGH/LOW.

Any automatic turntable on the market including: Audio Technica AT-LP70X, AT-LP3XBT, AT-LP60X, AT-LP60XBT; Denon DP-300F, DP-29F, DP-450USB;  Project Automat A2, A1 Automat, Debut Carbon EVO; Dual CS 618Q;  Sony PS-LX310BT;  Techniques SL-1500;  Fluance RT81.  I have not used automatic turntable tables since the late 1960’s so I do not know how they sound compared to manual equivalents.  I would go with a good manual table with one of the lifters on the market.

Referred to as a semi automatic turntable. Tone arm lifts at end of play or at the press of a button, parks and turns off automatically.  Fully automatic will play when a button is pressed.
