I've owned both the Coda No. 8 and S5.5. With my speakers, Fyne F703, I prefer the S5.5. It has replaced a very expensive class A tube amp. Far less heat (important to me as I live in the Arizona desert) and better sound. My final amp purchase.
CODA 8 V1
Just bought a used Coda 8 V1 Wow am I impressed. Could someone answer a question that the instructions don't address, or I missed it. It has to do with the meter lights. I'm sure it has to do with the sensitivity of the meters. They give you an option of pressing the button ( on each side) to give you a green light or an orange light, flanking it on either side is a bright blue light that indicates the unit is operating correctly. Could someone just clarify what the pressing of the button does, whether choosing green or orange? thanks so much!!! What a great amp!!!!!! Robert Tn

Very impressive. I had almost gone the S5.5 route, so close. The dealer suggested because of my loud Rock and Roll and CURRENT hungry speakers, the 8 V1 I'm lucky, Even at 90 db, I'm still in class A Enjoy! I will always wonder what the 5.5 would have sounded like. After hearing my new 8, with Zeppelin, The Who, Queen, Lynard Skynard, etc. Very pleased Robert |
@sls883 I have always read GREAT things about Von Schweikert speakers, Regardless of models. I'll bet you have a winning combination there, bet it sounds fabulous. |
@robshaw I like them. They're probably my last pair of speakers unless they crap out before I do, or I win the lottery (not likely since I don't buy lottery tickets). |
