You could, but....They’re not likely to play all that low, plus they’re huge for your space. My 2 cents is that you’d be better off with a powered subwoofer. Decent 10 and 12 " subs start for a bit over $100, and they’re plentiful on the used market. Much easier, smaller, and likely more effective.
Can I make these into a Sub
Ok, I'm a novice... but, I have a couple of Peavey 115 International series III speakers that were given to me. Can I just add a cross-over or something and use them as subs?
Crazier... I'm in a small room (supposed to be my office. It's 6' x 12' (7' 6" ceilings). Lots of shelves with records and such. I play a lot of jazz, blues, and 70's rock-n-roll. Usually, volume is 70-75 dB or less since it's very near field listening. Speakers are approximately 5' apart.
My system: Pioneer SX-626, Mitsubishi DAG-109 Equalizer, turntable is a Technics SL1200 MKII, Elac Debut 2.0 5.2 Bookshelf speakers (sitting on my desk), and the Peavey 115's sitting on the floor.
By no means audiophile quality, but it sounds pretty good to my old (68 years) ears.
Thoughts?
Thanks... Jerry
