My Favorite Tweaks, What is yours?

My favorite tweak is Puron lowering noise floor of my system. Holostage they open my system more, bigger soundstage , improves layering as well ,and made my system more effortless to listen.

Well my favorite tweak, probably because I just did it last week and it cured a problem that it was not intended for, has to be Herbies Labs isolation washers. I keep a stash of different size Herbies washers and disc for various applications but in this case I had been having issues with a VPI Scoutmaster in my headphone setup having a low level hum that seemed to be bearing induced. When I added a 33 rpm single speed pully and a second belt to the motor it would pull the motor closer to the platter as it set on the slick surface of the Symposium Segue that the table/motor sit on and that would change the speed. I slipped the Herbies under the four motor feet. Solved the problem of sliding plus the perceived bearing noise went away delivering a black/noiseless background. Before this my next step was to send spindle bearing and platter To Vas for service. You might say I stumbled into success. Enjoy the music

Not what I traditionally describe as a tweek, but most helpful and highly effective tool in your lp cleaning ritual. I no longer use a brush of any kind.

, for clean records.

Paying attention to all the details.  Simple things like is the turntable level?  Are the speakers in phase?  Is everything properly grounded?  Set up is everything.  Don't just consider the little things like the wires, the cartridge, or the isolation devices, the elephant is...the room itself.  And don't forget that furniture matters.  Leather reflects, textiles absorb, a carefully placed bookshelf can be a great aid to acoustics, but a big coffee table in the wrong place can really screw up the sound stage.  Like I said, pay attention to all the details.  It doesn't hurt to have a sympathetic significant other.

@996turbo911 beat me to it.

My B&W 803D3 had sounded a bit bright. The manual says to setup an equilateral triangle with the faces aimed at the listening seat (toed-in).

I rotated them so their faces aimed straight ahead.

Voila! Worked like a charm. Highs were softened, and an added benefit was the soundstage sounded wider. Winner winner chicken dinner.
