Rega upgrades/tweeks

I, too, have the same Rega P5 setup with the TTPSU. Mt dealerer AND the USA distributor was very adamant about not 'tweaking' the Rega sound. Also, if you rewire it will void your warranty. I am quite happy with my stock sound.

Those of you using the acryllic platters w/out a mat: did you find that a record clamp is needed?

No,a record clamp is not needed.A record clamp on a Rega turntable is rarely deemed a good idea - would interfere with the natural anti-resonance build of the table and acrylic is a much more nuetral material than those Rega glass platters.

I've read elsewhere that the Deepgroove and Groovetracer subplatters correct the Rega's speed inaccuracy (too fast) caused by the dimensionally incorrect (diameter too small) stock cast plastic subplatters.
A Rega TT-PSU also corrects this speed inaccuracy on P5s and P7s. When used together with an aftermarket subplatter, does this result in a too slow platter speed? Has anyone tried combining a TT-PSU with one of these machined subplatters?

Actually now that I have lived with my Rega P5 for around eight months, I enjoy the sound so much as is, I am not tweeking a thing...except perhaps a new Rega felt mat red or purple hmmm...
