IEC Connector Suggestions

Hello Everyone,
I want to reterminate some power cables with new 15 amp IEC connectors. I am looking for suggestions for high quality brands and sources for these connectors. I did this same thing a number of years ago, and as I recall some connectors were easier to work with than others. The cables to be terminated are 12 and 14 gauge, so I would appreciate learning about connectors that can easily accomodate these wire gauges, as well as making a solid tight connection with my power amps. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
All the best,
Dennis

DgClark,

As (your) luck would have it, I've recently listened to every commonly available AC connector out there. If you want the most revealing and neutral connector, get the Furutech FI-25R Rhodium-plated connector. While some find it a bit 'cool' sounding, it's also completely uncolored and features an absolutely clear and grainless presentation. A close second would be the Cryo'd Oyaide 079, which is warmer, but does have a bit of graininess. Both are easy to terminate, but the Furutech can accommodate up to 8awg wires without much struggle, while the Oyaide is limited to 10awg without the use of solder.
Hope that helps.
A connector I've used for several cables that's less expensive than the Wattgate, Oyaide or Furutech is this Marinco. It's designed for 12 or 14 gauge wire and is both very easy to put together and a really solid connection.
Go for the Schurter 4781, it will accept 12AWG wire without soldering. You can get them from Mouser Electronics for under $5 and alot cheaper if you buy in quanity. The equivalent Oyaide costs $45 and looks identical with the exception of the internal components (they are of better quality in the Oyaide) But are they worth 10X the price?
