HDMI Cable Questions

I am about to get a 42" 1080i LCD TV.

First, what is meant by a HDMI 1.3? Is this the latest and best version???

Second, I don't see a "bazillion" different brands of HDMI cables, as I do for audio cables. I'm not a "video" freak, but rather an audio freak. So...recommendations for a REASONABLY priced HDMI cable?

Thanks!

Wireworld makes the best HDMI cables. I recomend, according to your budget, the Ultraviolet 5.2 on up to the Silver Starlight 5.2. Look here on Audiogon for some really good prices or contact The Cable Company.
Try Blue Jeans Cable (http://bluejeanscable.com). They make any custom length you want at very good prices. I use a 35' HDMI-HDMI Blue Jeans cable from my blu-ray player to a 1080p projector. The results are excellent.
Save your money. You can get very good HDMI cables from HDTVSupply.com, Monoprice.com or Blue Jeans cable.
The latest release of HDMI is 1.3a (see link for all answers), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI since you are a music guy it proably will mean little. I have tried quite a few varieties of cables and to me negligible for the $$$. There are quite a few out there, such as BlueJeans that I feel are a good bargin. In general 1.2 vs 1.3a is not a big jump. In my opinion, HDMI has been very poorly implemtented. Oh and there is no such thing as an HDMI verion cable, I have seen some people selling 1.3 cable, BS
You may find this casual test interesting...it's only a Canadian opinion.http://www.cbc.ca/mrl3/8752/marketplace/packing_the_deal.wmv
