RCA cable lenght

I have been thinking of going with mono's at my speakers, but i am concerned about the length of the single ended cables. They would have to be at least 28 ft. long. I read somewhere a long time ago that you could not run them over twenty ft.

Could someone enlighten me.

Mwiliams; Is it not possible to put the monos next to the speakers? - that seems to be the layout of choice most of the time. Mine are about 2 feet from the speakers while the interconnects are about 7' away in either direction without any issues. Just a thought.
You can do it, you may get a little degradation but shortness of speaker wires will compensate for it. I have run ones 6M if my memory is correct, I used good cable and was quite happy. This is a vary contentious subject as you will probably see.
Depends on the specific devices but, in general, it should not be a problem. I run 10M interconnects without any issues.
