Tonearm Cable Question

What is the difference between tonearm IC's and regular IC's? Can you use regular IC's between your tonearm and preamp with good results?

Some tables have an RCA termination and can use any RCA to RCA cable. The thing to consider here is that a sheilded cable may be of some benifit between table and pre, in addition to having something that passes the signal transparently.
