Record companies provide downloads?

What would stop the record companies from getting off their lazy chairs and offering us downloads on a per track basis? Offer it in a mp3 type quickie and a lossless style so we can all be happy. They don't want pirating going on? Offer what we want instead!

Record companies are in the business of pressing vinyl for people that listen to music with a turntable. Analog.

I don't think he meant that literally.
Hi Doggitter

I've found that this depends on the label. For example I purchased Daft Punk's Random Access Memories LP and they included a digital download of the album. Also on the bandcamp website lots of artists there have music available for download per track. sometimes you can name your price.

As for buying downloads per track don't a lot of record companies offer that through Itunes or Amazon MP3 etc? Do you want to go the Interscope website and download music from there?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm confused by your post.
