Upgrade Theta Miles to Balanced version

I have an unbalanced Miles that I run my amp into. I like the minmalistic approach. I've read on Agon that the balanced version is superior even when run single ended(RCA). I would be using RCA's. Is this true?

I'm considering updating my Miles. I believe the price for updating is $500.00,is it worth it?
