Where does your user name come from?

Every year for 4 months in the fall/winter I band (place a band on the legs of) raptors that migrate through the Golden Gate area of San Francisco bay.

Initials.

In high school, a friend use to call out in the halls:

"Hey, DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Never paid it any mind.

Later in college folks started referring to me (occasionally) as DC spontaneously... independently of the high school guy.

Weirdly, one day, we bumped into each other later in college, further increasing the "DC" references.

Since "DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" was too long and "DC" was too short, it appears that DeeCee was just right as a general signature.

How's that for a too long and too boring story?

Perhaps it was just fate...
