Amp for Thiel CS6

I am considering purchasing Thiel CS6 for a combo two channel/surround system. And looking at Denon's 5800 for video switching/preamp (need the bandwidth of Denon or B&K for HDTV). I've heard the Thiels preamped with Denon and then McIntosh MC352, Proceed HPA2 and just the Denon straight. Using the Denon as an amp did not do the Thiels justice (duh). Compared to the McIntosh, the Proceed did not have the clarity - I assume insufficient power for the Thiels. Any suggestions for other amps (new or used) in the same price range as the McIntosh MC352 @ $3500? Any other thoughts on such a system - I am not yet a certified or certifiable audiophile and could use some advice. Thanks

Thanks for the help - I will look at the Bryston Monoblocks. I assume by the Mac making my ears bleed - you mean they will add too much coloration? I intend when I can afford it to go separate preamp for the Thiels. Thanks again.
I have Thiel CS6 speakers. They are being driven with a Krell FPB 200 in a stereo system. To my ears, the Thiel and Krell are match made in heaven. Try to arrange a audition for as many amps as you can. Amps are easier to move around than the Thiels. There are HEAVY!
The stores I've been in that carry Thiel had them hooked up to Krell in one room and Mark Levinson in another. You might like the Bryston 7B-ST, great quality and it costs less than mono's in Krell or Mark Levinson--you can't beat the warranty either (20 years!)
THRESHOLD T-200, ANY OF THE PASS AMPS 100 WATTS OR MORE, THE BIGGER KRELL KSA SERIES. THE KSA AMPS MIGHT BE A LITTLE DARKER SOUNDING THAN THE CURRENT KRELLS BUT MAKES A GREAT SYNERGY WITH YOUR THIELS. I'VE BEEN THROUGH THIS EXACT PATH.
