Emotiva Tube Amplifiers Coming In February

I was at the Emotiva traveling roadshow last Saturday in Los Angeles. During a presentation to the visitors, Emotiva's owner mentioned that the tube designs that they purchased from Bob Carver will become a part of Emotiva's amplifier lineup next year. He said the tube amp they're building will be 300 wpc. He said that it will not be a retro-looking amp with exposed tubes. He said that the tubes will be in a covered chassis for a more modern look.

Hot piece? Of course, you will never a wind farm to power it and maybe a water powered condenser to cool it. Also, to sell it will require a five year warranty. Carver designs are known for lack of reliability.
This whole thread is based on "what the owner said", and that's fine, but I've found that what Dan Laufman says is usually the most positive outcome scenario which rarely happens with that company. Most new products they introduce are months/years late. Also just about every single piece of electronics that they've released, that is, a first time DAC, CD player, etc, has had issues, bugs and firmware needs. The only amp they make that has any firmware needed a patch upon release. Dan can give glowing reports, but the final result usually has much less lustre.

Second, this agreement and parting with Bob Carver has been shrouded in mystery from the get go. I am skeptical as to what technology exactly Emotiva managed to buy from Carver, who is obviously an electronics genius and marketing whiz. I really doubt that he sold the best of his stuff to Emotiva, so they could try to outsell him in his own market with blue glowing tube amps.

Also, Andrew Robinson has recently left the employ of Emotiva. Bob Carver left them. TacT left them. Just what is it like to deal with Emotiva that they can sign up all of these heavy hitters, but not keep them? Dan may try to put the best possible spin on Carver's departure, but something smells a little there.

One thing Emotiva can do, though, is lure in the uninitiated with the promise of something for nothing. There's no free lunch, but there's also a sucker born every minute.
Emotiva cuts out the middle man. It would be like CJ selling direct. The consumer benefits. Anyone who has compared or owned the equipment knows it offers a good value
Soon all brands should come up with toob amp. Why not making some money? Who's next: Krell? Pass? Parasound? I won't wonder if Onkyo, Outlaw or Denon will chip in!
