Emotiva?

Who has heard of this stuff....who has listened to this stuff....who has an opinion on this stuff??

I have owned their stuff. I had an MMC-1 pre-processor that I purchased new from the company. Well-built piece of gear. Decent sounding, very dynamic, crystal clear. But I did detect a bit of sibilance that annoyed me. My HK pre-pro does not exhibit this.

Anyway, I sold the unit after a couple of weeks. But that was my intention from the get-go. I bought the MMC-1 so I could get the 40% off deal on their new line of pre-pros.

I will probably end up with the new UMC-1 pre-pro. It appears to have *everything* I'm looking for in a pre-pro: all the latest codecs, HDMI switching, and a nice, simple front panel and user interface. The MMC-1 was way too busy up front, too many buttons for me. As long as the UMC-1 does not exhibit that sibilance problem, I'll probably keep it. At 40% off $700, it's a smokin' deal.

I *can* say that the folks at Emotiva do try VERY hard to please their customers and their service is outstanding. And their new line of amps and speakers are getting good reviews. All in all I think they have a good thing going. I wish them all the success in the world, they're nice folks...

I HAVE 2 OF THEIR AMPS: XPA-5 AND THE LPA-1. APPEARS TO BE REALLY NICE GEAR. I HAVE HAD AN A/V PROCESSOR ON ORDER FROM FEB 2008 - NEVER MADE AVAILABLE NOR DELIVERED. RAN OUT OF PATIENCE & FINALLY BOUGHT AN INTEGRA 9.8. I WOULD NOT HESITATE BUYING FROM THEM AGAIN IF I HAD A NEED FOR HIGH QUALITY MID GRADE GEAR.
I installed an MMC1 and MPS2 in a theater recently and they work extremely well with the Triad Gold LCR speakers.
I'd like to hear their new XPA-2 two channel amp, impressive specs and build. I could only find suggestions to buy their products, hardly any first hand user reviews. (except at the Emotiva forum).
