Meridian G68 or G61R

Hello Everyone, I'm a newbie to Audiogon. I just sold a Lexicon MC-12 Hd and I'm looking to puchase a Meridian G68 or G61R. I was using my old processor as a dedicated Home Theater. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks

I have a Meridian G68ADV. I use it for both music and movies, and I have been very happy with its sound quality for both. I use its built in room correction, which is effective.

A word of caution, however: It is not consumer friendly. To begin with, you must set it up using Meridian's configuration software for PC. The basics of the program are not too difficult, assuming you are comfortable with a reasonable variety of computer software. But the more advanced program functions can be difficult to understand for a beginner. It will take many hours of work to get the most out of it. If you are willing to put in the time and effort, then it is a very rewarding piece of gear. If not, you will be frustrated.
The basics of the program are straight forward enough, but the more advanced functions are not. So, for example, configuring the initial system setup is straight forward, and will probably take you an hour. But once you start to configure bass management, run room correction, set DSP modes, and so on, things can get a little tricky, and can take many, many hours to sort out.

If you buy the unit from a dealer, you will be able to rely on him for questions. If not, you will probably need to ask for help on Meridianunplugged.com, a forum dedicated to Meridian users. The owner's manual for Meridian products, in my experience, are inadequate.
I purchased the Meridian G68 and waiting for the product to arrive. I downloaded the software. It was a little confusing, but I was able to figure it out.

Thanks
