Class A watts vs Class A/B watts

Old question seeking some new answers, Yes I read the archives.
At issue;
Accuphase Class A E550 30w watt integrated
OR
McIntosh MA6900 200 watt integrated.
Driving original Revel Gems @ 87db, 6 ohm nominal drops to 2.5 ohms.
Have a pair of subs to fil in the low end.
BTW We start listening at "normal" volumes but it always winds up loud at some point .
Always wanted Accuphase, give me some ear candy here to help me squeeze the trigger.

Are you going to keep the revels long term;if so I would concentrate more on proper matching of the amp to the speakers rather than the amps make .
To me it seems that the impedance drop to 2.5 ohms may make the 30 watt amp a little short of power;but I don't know the frequency of that drop.
The only way to really know if to audition the amp(s) in your enviroment.
I, too, like the Accuphase--but forget it for the Gems, even with a sub. I used these and needed a 150W A/B mark-lev (to make them play music, not squeak).
The amplifier Pani refers to is in a totally different league to either of your shortlisted items, however -- if you can afford it, go for it!
