vtl 2.5 TL old vs. new version 6350??

Which version of VTL 2.5 TL pre-amp is better, the one with the 6350 tubes or the 12AU & AT?> I am looking for warm sound with wide 3-d soundstage, crystal highs....

The newer and older are very good! I have had both and could live with either one. You are on the right track with the 2.5 because it does deliver a slightly warm presentation depending on the brand of tubes installed but I love its big 3D soundstage and detail. Just one of the best buys in tube preamplification.
