Love it, good stuff, you might also try Candi Staton's new release "In his hands" She's been gospel for a while, but this one is Southern Soul. Another good southern soul singer is Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, they have two releases out, both worth listening to.

is it just me, but I was rather underwhelmed by the sound quality of the CD. The vocals sound somewhat closed in.

I suspect the vinyl version is better ?

Sorry about the late response, got the "best Of" Candi Staton CD on the Archive label. She is a vastly overlooked talent. Good and powerful voice. Unless I just have my head buried in the usual audiophile female voice sands.

I haven't heard the CD but the vinyl sounds pretty darn good..........
