I saw Pearl Jam last night...

I saw Pearl Jam last night on the Waterfront in Camden NJ last night. Excellent show. 2.5 hrs of blasting rock. Eddie Vedder's Cause now is to get wrongfully imprisoned prisoners freed. It bought the show to a grinding halt when he marched and paraded 3 ex cons around the stage. The band is one of the best out there. They blow away U2 and these other big name acts.

Personally I would rather see My Morning Jacket than Pearl Jam these days. The whole politics thing bothers me as well. A few friends and I recently saw Glen Philips from Toad the Wet Sprocket live and playing acoustic. It was a great show except for him discussing his political views.. It just took away from the mood of the show. One person in the audience even yelled at him to just shut up and sing..Sad..

The title of Laura Ingraham's latest book "Shut Up and Sing" says it all. Your politics Eddie, Barbra, Neil, Dixie Chicks, et.al. do not interest most of us.
Samski, Amen. NEVER should the two be mixed. Music is to be enjoyed, the stage shouldn't be a pulpit.
Pearl Jam is a great band but commercial radio ruined them for me...massive overexposure. In fact, Pearl Jam is the reason I don't listen to commercial radio in my car anymore
A band having a political, usually divisive, "cause" generally means that they'll soon be entering the dowside of their careers. That's fine with me. I listen to music to entertainedand relax, not to get a drug-addled, poorly conceived, leftist political lecture.
