Comedy Tonight

there was a time when comedy lps were among the best sellers...bob newhart, bill cosby, alan sherman, red foxx, and more...then on the firesign theatre, hudson and landry. novelty records as well..does anyone remember 'the first family' lp's? or doug clark?. i picked up some cd's by doug stanhope and find them incredibly, and wickedly, funny. bill hicks classic stuff(god rest his soul)is highly repeatable as well. any others new or old, anyone can recommend?

Seinfeld on Broadway is wicked funny.

Eddie Murphy has a comedy cd, (the name i don't remember) that has a funny skit about James Brown and an even funnier skit about The Honeymooners.
If you enjoy Bill Hicks, you should check out Patton Oswalt.

For a slightly different vibe, there's always Howard Stern's various digital distribution channels.
