Quality Record Pressings "Tea for the Tillerman"

I just received mine yesterday and played in through this morning. Packaging/production are first rate and the sound is excellent--dynamic, rich, layered and completely lacking any hardness in the vocals I've experienced with several other vinyl and CD copies. (Check out "Father and Son" where Cat howls "But it's them they know not me"). Perhaps my expectations for surface noise were too high but mine is noisier than I would like, particularly side one. Thoughts?

Mine is on a FedEx truck, somewhere between Kansas and here (Massachusetts), closer to here than there, I'd hope. I'm looking forward to giving it a spin.
From the things I have heard half speed mastering creates more problems than it solves.
