PrimaLuna vs Mystere You can still buy a couple of the NOS Mystere amps at Upscale Audio. I really like the looks vs PL
gold lion 12ax7 , au7 Will do
Tube amplifier suggestion for 101 dB speakers I'm thinking of the Quicksilver Sixty Watt Mono's for my ZU Omen defs. The Quicksilvers look nice with the chrome chassishttp://quicksilveraudio.com/products/sixty-watt-mono-amp/
Nuforce STA200 I'm looking forward to trying. Just curious, I wonder who makes a passive pre with all the bells and whistles?
Nuforce STA200 Thanks for suggestion. I will try "sys only" this weekend. Now, I did use my Prebox S2 as a pre while my RP-5 was getting repaired and it performed outstanding. Finding a passive pre with all the features, inputs and remote as the rp-5 would be qu...

Any one using 2 separate amps using a/b switch to same speakers? Good points. My pre does have two amp outputs, however, the second goes to my sub. Switching out rca’s And Bananna plugs are really not that big of deal.
One Amp To ‘Rule’ Them All.... I want to try the Benchmark myself
Nuforce STA200 I love the SYS. I'm glad I could be of help.
Bryston 4B3 vs Mac MC462 vs Pass Labs X250.8, OR... GRYPHON Diablo 300? I was disappointed to hear about the Mac. To me, it's the best looking of the bunch. However, the sound is the most important thing in the end.
KLE RCA plugs are the real deal!! I agree. Opening wide enough to run a water line thru it. I did use the screws on my first set with good results. I may heat shrink over the ends the next time around
New McIntosh amp build quality Yes, I have very efficient speakers (Zu Omen Defs at 101 db), so one would be all I need. However, two would really look good :)
KLE RCA plugs are the real deal!! The KLE's are the only plugs that taper?
KLE RCA plugs are the real deal!! The mid to lower end Synergistic research cables are typical of many brands. many say nothing special, some love them. I researched them a couple years back. I may have to give them a try sometime
KLE RCA plugs are the real deal!! Wow...sorry to hear about the issues. I was not suggesting NOT to solder. Just if you want to try experimenting with different wires to try out before actually doing a solder, the KLE's seem like a great way to do it. |
