Cartridge find Audio Technica AT155LC - any good? I may have some crow to eat. The Turntableneedles 155lc does not come in an Audio Technica box like another 155lc purchased elsewhere, and it has a dot on the shaft which is not on the 155lc I just took out of a box.
Cartridge find Audio Technica AT155LC - any good? I have purchased a couple of 155lc stylus from Turntableneedles, before they ran out, and they were always the correct stylus with beryllium shaft. They have since running out, shown that they had none, and point to their 208 stock which does incl...
Johnny Winter Bootleg Series? Since no one seems to have heard this series, I have ordered the 1st record. I would think they would put out the best first, to get sales on the latter releases. Looking forward to receiving this!
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Raul, The silencers are flat with the platter, so the vinyl is not in contact with any rubber. The theory, at least as I understand, is more in absorption and dissimilar metals not allowing resonance. It kind of sets off my BS meter, but the table...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Raul, the Precept 220 showed up today. The cartridge has a lot of promise, even with the 220xe stylus. Took a little while for the bass to show up. Only about 3 hours on it. Can get a little bright so far.Regarding TT mats. I use the Acoustic Sig....
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Harold, I got the idea from Dgarretson. He is light years ahead of me in knowledge regarding, well anything related to turntables and arms, and probably many other things not discussed.I will try some different materials and see what happens.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Since some of us are using tonearms with fixed headshells, and most of you are using different headshells to tame resonance, would using a spacer of equal thickness, as a headshell, made of headshell materials, ie ebony, titanium, give the same res...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Thanks Nandric, that should do it. Something subtle was what I had in mind. We don't want to oversell.BTW, Where can I get a F8 from a parallel universe? What kind of stylus does it have, and how does it sound compared to the F8 from this universe?
Grace F-9 broken stylus You can probably get around $50- $100 maybe more, for your F9 as is. As Tommyboy65 said, it is a very good cartridge. It may be one of the reasons you like records, so get the Shure and see if you want to have the F9 repaired latter. As you are fi...
Joseph Audio RM7XL Mynameisnoname, When I purchased the RM25xl in Feb. of 2007, the dealer said Josephs had just changed cabinet makers due to poor quality. Mine look and sound great.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Nandric, If you will sing praises of the Grace F8 I am thinking of parting ways with, we will call it even. ;)
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Indieroehre, The Audio Technica Atn 12s would give you a Shibata stylus on the Precept body. Should be good.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Raul, Whatever terminology you chose is fine with me. Thanks for the response. You answered what I was asking.I guess I am up for another adventure with King Raul and the Knights of the Turntable. What is the wing speed of an unladen swallow?
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Raul, I also would like to know the answer to Lewm's question. Just for reference, The NRG is better, to you, than the PRG (previous reference generation), or just another very good cartridge? My MM/Mi list is getting longer, actually way past rid...
Joseph Audio RM22XL I agree with Soix. When I auditioned the 22xl and the 25xl, I had to have that extra bass foundation of the 25, but if your room is small or you don't need the extra bass the 22xl is great. Listen to both, you may like the 22xl better.Btw, you wil... |
