sbooster upgrade for Lumin D2 worth it?
$800 seems steep for an SBooster but maybe in CAD that is the rate. Look into Teddy Pardo. I’m sure they have a LPS that works as well. If you email them they’ll let you know.
Amp Internal Wire
What piece of equipment are you looking to rewire? If you’re not sure what wire to use, do you feel confident to solder and rewire equipment? In the past for real short leads such as from a board to rca jacks on the rear panel I used to use Wonder...
Does a DAC need a large/strong power supply?
Someone else mentioned the RME ADI 2fs DAC with its SMPS, and although it does sound really good stock, adding a Teddy Pardo LS (also mentioned by someone else) does improve things. On the RME it added some weight and expanded the stage.
NRG a201s Amplifier; Too Old to Risk?
Condition, Condition, Condition. If it’s a minty maybe. They’re asking $2K, so offer $1500 or so. Remember drooling over the ads of NRG’s but never seen one in person. If you have the means to do it and the money will not hurt parting with then go...
Upgrading
It’s amazing cable companies even exist since all cables sound the same… Good Grief. Maybe many cannot hear the difference, too stubborn to want to accept they do or maybe using an old receiver from the 70’s with some Bose 301’s and even Michael F...
Upgrade 2 conductor power cables
VH Audio has both ends and cable you need. I have built this power cord and it’s very good. I’ve built two.
Difference in sound between the RME ADI-2 DAC and the RME ADI-2 Pro DAC
Agree with others above. Have the FS with Teddy Pardo PS. The Teddy Pardo made a nice improvement across the board, plus a lot more options for power cables.
What cable companies make the best cables and sell them directly?
WyWires. Very neutral and plays well with others. Not a big name so on the used market they are a great buy.
Cd transport
I’d buy a better CDP and forgo using the DAC in the P5. If you can find a discontinued Cambridge 851C you will be better off. If you can’t find a 851C look at the current Rotel RCD 1572 MKII. Nice thing about both of these players is you can use t...
Power Cord for DAC
I’d remove Kimber from your list. Kimber makes nice PC’s for analog  but they are unshielded and will add noise to digital components. I’d look at a WyWires Platinum Juice II Digital series PC which is a shielded cable which will have a lower nois...
What Speakers are you running with your Gryphon Amp?
First, speakers in a retail store/showroom will never sound close to your home, different acoustics, noise, equipment and etc. Depending on the dealer, a lot of equipment doesn’t get played much before they sell the demo so it’s not burned in. Onl...
Power cords: Kimber Kable Palladium
mdrone I do not have experience with the Palladium’s, but with the PK10 Gold which at the time was right below in the line.  The PK10 Gold is a very nice PC, but I found it a little soft, not being fast or revealing, pleasant but held back. When ...
Threshold s/500 vs Cambridge Azur 851 CD
geworthomd Im not following your question, a Threshold amp “VS” a Cambridge CD player? What are you looking for? The 851C is a great CD player for the money. Can’t think what 851 Series amp that has a DAC and my guess is others above are thinking...
Power cords: Kimber Kable Palladium
Can’t speak for the Palladium’s but owned a few PK10 Golds and they are very good PC’s. Agree on a DAC you will not need a PK10 and that the PK14 will be more than adequate. Sold the Kimbers years ago and went with WyWires per Dan Wright and never...
ARC 100.2 vs ARC SD135
Used to own a 100.2. Great amp, which you’ll never replace for the money. I’d buy the SD135 before I let go of the 100.2, then sell the one you feel is the lesser amp.
