Comparing streamer/DACs between $5-10k
Innuos and their Sense app seem pretty straightforward and simple to use.  But not much for meta-data on artists etc.  Lineup spans price points and tech.  Zen(ith) line rips/storage, Pulse do not.  Most require DAC.
Bananas rule, spades drool. End of discussion.
OP, I could have sworn a couple years ago or so you asked AG members for a good clamp/no solder spade recommendation.  Change of heart or bad experience?
Cable Break In for the Naysayers
It's a broad general statement that declares that "i know that there's nothing I don't know".  That's my only point.   It's an over-reach imho.  Im not at all saying that we can't measure countless things with instruments  better than we can ourse...
Cable Break In for the Naysayers
Without any implied agreement or disagreement with the OP, the idea that "if it can't be measured it can't be real" (to paraphrase) cannot in any way be a valid position. (Not that above poster necessarily agrees with it either, while many do).  S...
Newer Blues Artists or Recordings
Kingfish,  good entry.  Not new but new to me this last year or two is Tab Benoit.  Mix of southern Delta /Zydeco blues guitar/vocal.  Some great Telarc recordings too once he hit his stride.
All speakers have a little EQ built in
@audiokinesis can you expand on how low, or how much of the phase curve that's low inductance, at low impedance is acceptable for most tube gear?  I don't want to hijack the thread but isn't this the crux of amp/speaker "synergy" save perhaps effi...
Upgraded my cables and they transformed my system!!!
@vthokie83 any particular designs you'll be making you can share?   Built my own RCA and speaker cables so im curious what length others go to.
surprising comparison of tube preamps
@atmasphere I'm reading with keen interest and hoping to learn.  So is your point leading to any reason to believe that integrated units have an  advantage?  Any, or would they need to be fully balanced from input to output?  I'll just sit back an...
Floor to Bookshelf
Oh, search hifishark and it'll return results for many sites at once.  See my system for example of NADAs.
Floor to Bookshelf
I'm a strong advocate of published or open souced DIY speakers.   Several out there have a great following.  I own the NADA "stand" 2-ways made with Scanspeak's best drivers, XOs in furniture grade cabinets.  Name recognition brands would cost man...
Do you adjust your subwoofer
I get that a calibrated to room setup is ideal.  Its the goal. An "all else being equal" thing.  But it requires a test tone/sweep.  Then an actual recording comes up and guess what, you may not feel that they mixed the bass high enough or maybe w...
Preamp vs DAC vs Streamer
@signaforce for tube sourcing or another opinion Brent Jesse is an invaluable resource.  Not the same tubes in mine but in my preamp section NOS tubes that were for scientific usage (tight tolerance)  yielded fuller  bass and better stage, separat...
Do you adjust your subwoofer
A bit more info, the remote app for my SVS subs is very useful.  Adjust from your fave seat and enjoy.  Can't say enough vs getting up and twiddling knobs in a darkened room.  Glad to see that not everyone buys into set and forget, it was what the...
Do you adjust your subwoofer
Not all recordings seem to have the equivalent bass level.  I mean, what seems right to me, for that material.  So I do change the volume.  It's a db scale on my remote app so within about a  3-5 db range I find seems "right" in 90% of recordings....
