Joseph Audio Perspective2 vs Harbeth SHL5+
@soix I've added some pics of the JA's from multiple angles. You can check out my virtual system.
Fritz vs CSS vs Ryan
I own Fritz Carrera BE's and did a comparison against a number of well-known speakers last year. More specifically, the Carreras made me sell my Harbeth 30.1 speakers which are almost twice the price. You can read about it here ... https://foru...

@prof Thanks for sharing the pic. These speakers are just gorgeous. Honestly, I feel pics don't do justice to them, they're even better in person. I do have a question while looking at the pic: It seems that one of the speakers is placed right aga...
Adding a sub. - can i start with one?
One advice I can give, based on a recent personal experience, is to not skimp on subwoofer quality -- buy the best you can afford. Case in point: I used to have a single T9/i sub and added a second T9i after a few months. It definitely made an imp...
Joseph Audio Perspective2 vs Harbeth SHL5+
I realized that I had not updated my virtual system pics in a while. I accidentally deleted the virtual system and had to create a new one. I will write more about the sonic impressions for JA Perspective2's in a day or two. But as you can see the...
Joseph Audio Perspective2 vs Harbeth SHL5+
@ryder For me, it was hands down the Luxman 590AXII. It was more refined and the treble was just sublime. Hegel had more bass control, but I felt the bass on Luxman, while not as visceral, was more nuanced. It also added just the right hint of war...

Two is better than one. One is better than none :)

@tswisla While I agree that SHL5+ can benefit from high-powered amps, you'd be surprised how well they work with my Qualiton amp. Just for reference, I have tried the speakers with Luxman 590AXII (owned), Hegel H390 (extended home audition), Kinki...
Best speakers for a small room
I highly recommend Fritz Carrera BE standmount speakers. They are supremely balanced and sound much bigger than they are. The quality of material and fit and finish are superb. They have a crisp, modern, and balanced sound but they never sound har...
Joseph Audio Perspective2 vs Harbeth SHL5+
Well I’m going to pick them up in about an hour or so. Will compare them to the SHL5+ in the next few days. Depending on how it goes, you might see either the SHL5+ or Perspective2’s for sale. Keeping my fingers crossed. Appreciate everyone who pi...

@avanti1960 If I remember correctly, do you (or did you) own JA Pulsars that replaced your SHL5+? I see exactly where you're coming from. I tried a lot of speakers, some more expensive, but there's something about the Harbeth sound that makes me g...

... get the Townshend podiums, they get rid of all the room problems so you won't have to waste time putting up all that crap around your room. Sorry I disagree. While I don't doubt that Townshend podiums are great for controlling vibrations, b...
Joseph Audio Perspective2 vs Harbeth SHL5+
@prof  and @arthur1260 -- thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed and helpful replies. I truly appreciate it. The truth is that I'm quite happy with my SHL5+ and have come to appreciate the qualities that Harbeth brings to the table...
Luxman vs Hegal
I’ve heard this argument many times before that Luxman sounds soft overall and flabby in the bass department. I guess I must have heard something totally different, or perhaps people making such claims are relying on aural memories of the old Luxm...
Luxman vs Hegal
Luxman 590AXII is rated at 30 watts in class A and then it switches to A/B for over 90 watts. I used it with Sonus Faber Olympica II (which was 88db at 4 ohms) as well as Harbeth SHL5+ which are 86db. The amp had zero trouble driving both speakers...
