Go analog or upgrade digital
Are you willing to work for great sound from vinyl? It isn't a "chore", but it does require more attention than digital to keep things sounding great.
why aren't ribbon tweeters more popular?
Yes it does, thanks John!
why aren't ribbon tweeters more popular?
Hi JohnK,Have you heard/used a ribbon whose sound gets close to the t500mkII?
Azimuth and the Fozgometer
the simplest way to get azimuth as close to ideal as possible. Maybe for some.
Vinyl pops and clicks: Can they be eliminated??
Why don't some of you hand-wringers offer some advice of your own? This topic has been beaten to death many times in many ways on this forum. It does get old, especially when the question gets asked more than once in very general terms. Doug can s...
Graham Phantom DV XV-1s setup question
I also am surprised the setup with the jig was apparently that far off. I'd never expect it to match what the MintLP can facilitate, but it seems like it should have been better that what was reported. Anyway, glad it is strutting for you now.
Vinyl pops and clicks: Can they be eliminated??
Fair enough, Jim, but I still think it possible to have started this thread with a little better premise. It sounds like you are no stranger to audio, was vinyl always been your main source or was it just another source? I ask because for one who ...
Vinyl pops and clicks: Can they be eliminated??
Glad you feel better. Now, why did you post an extremely general question about pops and clicks with a "new" condition that does, quite honestly, sound like simple mis-handling? ;-) I'm just askin'!
Graham Phantom B44 2 or Taela ?
That lends a whole, new meaning to "resin up the bow". I have seen those pics before. It always struck as being more of some artist's statement than any serious attempt at music reproduction. But what do I know. :-)
Clearaudio Double Smart Matrix or Loricraft PRC4
Randy, I take the cleaned LP off of my rcm and lay it my pool table well away from my system, especially my cartridge. I clean, then demag, then slide into a new sleeve.
rumble issues - see old thread update
HI Tom,I just noticed your BAT SS amp. Yeah, I doubt you're having clipping issues if that is the amp you are using. That is the worst possible problem that can occur, but it most often doesn't. Better safe that sorry though. It seems that you're ...
Clearaudio Double Smart Matrix or Loricraft PRC4
Peter, I think Doug found that with the Talisman repeat demags are necessary, and maybe Walker advertises it as so. So far, with the stronger magnet, I have not found it necessary to repeat the demag on any LPs. I do also pull my tubes and cables ...
Vinyl pops and clicks: Can they be eliminated??
Oh, wonderful. Yet another silly digital format that's "almost as good a vinyl".
Clearaudio Double Smart Matrix or Loricraft PRC4
Yeah, guess I stated the obvious. :-) It is funny that this subject usually causes all kinds of heartburn which lead to one of the pointless arguments. These days I see mention of demagnetizing LPs and I don't even think twice about it.

Doug, sounds like that button switch on your's has gone bad. They are cheap enough. :-)
