Sonus Faber Guarneri vs Guarneri Memento Pinkus, while I generally agree with your comment about modern technology, this is not an absolute. For instance, most 'philes including myself would argue that analog LP's are a superior medium for sound reproduction than digital systems. When Fr...
Sonus Faber Guarneri vs Guarneri Memento Pinkus, Read the review more carefully from Fremer. He states he has not heard the GH's and that the mid-woofer is a Audio Tech in the GM. It isn't... Look at the SF site and see that it is sourced from Dynaudio. In the review MF also states the mi...
SF Guarneri Homage vs Harbeth 7ES3 Don, You might want to consider a couple of Martin-Logan Depths. I have not heard these with G's, but a friend uses them with his 'stats and they are very fast and can go pretty deep. I'm not sure if the JL's are fast enough to keep up with the G's.
Sonus Faber Guarneri vs Guarneri Memento Flg 2001, The mid-woofer is as a custom made Audiotechnologie unit in the GH and a Dynaudio sourced unit in the GM.
Sonus Faber Guarneri vs Guarneri Memento Pinkus,I think Flg2001 hit the nail on the head..As I have posted before, the drivers in the GH's are IMHOfar superior to the drivers in the M. The Esotar is probably one of the top two or three tweeters in the world and the Audiotechnologie mid/w...
SF Guarneri Homage vs Harbeth 7ES3 Don, If you need more bass, I suggest a sub. Usually in a small room the G's have sufficient bass, but in a larger room, then a sub that is fast and as accurate as possible, is the way to go. I personally don't really like the A's as much as the G...
SF Guarneri Homage vs Harbeth 7ES3 Don, why are you selling your G's?
Sonus Faber Guarneri vs Guarneri Memento Pinkus....how perceptive of you..:0) Congrats on the quick fingers and beating me to the thread..;0)I actually thought this thread had died a while back..guess I was wrong. My feelings on the G's vs. M's are pretty well known by now. Simply look o...
SF Guarneri Homage vs Harbeth 7ES3 Ggavetti, I own the SF G's and have listened extensively to the 7Es3's.... Really 'like comparing apples and oranges' as the old saying goes.If you listen to Jazz and vocal and strings, IMHO the G's are just about unbeatable and frankly to me in a...
Is it the transport or DAC that enables HDCD/Red? You might want to seek out an EAD 7000 Mk 2 or 3 from a few years ago. It's an exceptional DAC and will decode HDCD.What's more it also has an invert switch so you change polarity onthe fly....VERY VERY useful IMHO
Personal speaker evolution My first speakers were Pye's with their Pye turntable andintegrated. A very musical system. Then I owned some KLH's for about two days. Took the KLH's back and found audiophiledom. Next up were Maggie 1's impwhich I still think sound great. Sold t...
Speakers to hang on to for LIFE Jman,Agree with you, my Sonus Faber G's have got me off the merry-go-round also.A very special speaker that is a pleasure to own.
What happened to the absolute sound web page? Thanks Reubent, that's the link...Strange though that they would let that domain name ( www.theabsolutesound.com) go by the wayside! Probably forgot to pay the renewal fees in time.:0)lol!
speaker recommendations for a 12 x 12 room? Azkeith, I too am using a similar sized room.In this room, I have excellent results with SF GuarneriHommage speakers. One of the best things I have tried is to place large objects into the corners of the room behind the speakers for diffraction an...
Wilson Audio MAXX series III Since the Maxx series 2 is now a boat anchor, I will be looking out for these on A'gon for pennies on the dollar. |
