fm tuner Consider a NAD S400. Demoed one over a decade ago but still remember the balanced/organic black background of this near reference tuner. This one flies under the radar.
Whats playing on your system today? Nutty-Great post-Slayer-Seasons in the Abyss is IMO opinion the best Slayer recording. Not one weak song on the album which includes several of the best. Easily a top 25 all time metal recording!!! I will have to take a pass on Jason Aldean.
Opinion on Yamaha Amps The Yamaha MX-1 has been my favorite budget(<$1k) power amp for over a decade. The A-S2000 is an excellent value int. amp, the current 2100/3000 might be better but I have not heard either and there much more costly. FWIW the A-S2000 works very...
What is your go-to online place to buy physical medium of music? And why? Elusive Disc for vinyl and CD Japan for digital. Both ship fast and place a high value on customer service.
Best Sounding Classic Rock Cd's I agree with many of the comments posted. Heart for reasons unknown to me(maybe they did know a "Magic Man") produced very good recordings. Not familiar with Heart-Heart(1985 and later recordings), Billy Idol's earlier recordings sound good to my ...
Old friend looking for acoustic folk inspired music When folk music is mentioned Kate Wolf deserves notice. She had a brief 10 year recording span due to illness and eventually death. Had she survived her talent would have emerged into the mainstream during the "folk" revival of the late 80's-early...

Rega P25 with mods or new table? A properly set up spec P25 is basically on even or superior sonic terms with all Rega decks with the exception of the P7-P9-RP-8-RP10. Save your money with mods and get a used P9 or RP10 then make some minor upgrades-mat-feet-record weight ect.
Internet music sellers Check out CD Japan if you want the best sounding digital. Shipping is fast and prices are fair. They also have vinyl and many miscellaneous items.
Why do all audio forums on the internet seem "dead" ? I'm high on life! I thought the Sony Walkman reference was a joke! If you enjoy the audiophile hobby the many issues you mentioned...RFI-fuses-room acoustics ect. are viewed as a challenge not an obsession or chore. Enjoy the peace and harmony of ...
Why do all audio forums on the internet seem "dead" ? Geoffkait- Just because your tired/worn out with "important" issues that determine sound quality is irrelevant. Unless your trying to be funny, many of us enjoy the journey regardless of the cost or mistakes! Your post reminds me to blast "School'...
When rap came out 30 years ago I thought it was just a fad Calvinj-First of all i’m not bashing hip-hop music, put down the anger pills and listen. My point was 99% of ALL recorded music does not meet my standards regardless of genre. IMO hip-hop has a much smaller sample of recordings that meet my standa...
When rap came out 30 years ago I thought it was just a fad Jetrexpro-"It's a young persons world". Advertisers and the arts media believe that because the ignorant/young can be easily persuaded in purchasing anything regardless of artistic value. Calvinj-Your obsession with audiophiles not embracing rap-h...
Vinyl sales My issue with new vinyl is almost all recordings are inferior to the original pressings. Why? I assume the technology is there to exceed or at least match the first pressings.
