Great Organists in Rock Chayro-Your spot on!!! Floyd Sneed was also a world class musician that gets overlooked by many. I was too young at the time to appreciate the talent and diversity of Three Dog Night. I have recently delved into the discography and realize they ar...

Who do you credit for your love of mucic? I would have to give my mother the most credit. With Sinatra-Bennett-Mathis-Warwick and various classical and show tunes being played helped create a diverse interest in music. Even with my ear glued to "THE BIG 8" I understood there were other fo...
Most overrated audio manufacturers? HiDiamond Cables are definitely NOT in the "yawn category". I have tried several power cords and the P3 is clearly one of the best values in all of HEA. Other then a dedicated line this is the best $750(2/used P3's)I have spent. The time is now fo...
help me build a cheap second system Since your accustomed with great transparency and dynamics(TAD) the ATC SCM-19v2 is your speaker. At $4300(retail) it does take up a huge chunk of the $7k limit. There are many used options to keep this around $7K, here are a few. 1-NAD 375BEE/565...
What companies, out of Business, did you LOVE??? Sounds like the Hales might have a lot in common with Marten Speakers(which I need to demo).
What companies, out of Business, did you LOVE??? Prof-THX for the insight. With the cost of current near SOTA speakers newer vintage(10-15 years old) might be worth the risk. Is there any current speaker(s) you would compare the T-5 or T-8 with?
What companies, out of Business, did you LOVE??? Prof-Great choices. Have heard Dunlavy and Meadowlark speakers but never Hales. The Hales Transcendence 8 has always been on my "wanted" vintage speaker list due to the rave reviews and build quality.
What are your favorite speaker finishes? White(mother of pearl) on any Kharma speaker! On more modest speakers the Satin Sycamore on KEF Reference Series is a long time favorite. With budget speakers the Sonus Faber Venere 3.0 in Walnut Veneer is a standout! FWIW have always been a fan o...
Your favorite LP nobody has ever heard of Many selections are way to mainstream... Doobie Brothers/Joe Walsh(lol)! Also does the OP want only vinyl releases?
Your favorite LP nobody has ever heard of Sally Rogers-Love Will Guide Us. I doubt more then 20k copies were pressed and it was never released on CD(to my knowledge).
Where should I spend my $2000? Chuke076-If you increased your budget to $2500 you must consider(used) the SF Venere 3.0 or Focal 826W. I would give the edge to the SF, because IMO you will get rewarded with future upgrades in electronics. The Focal is more forgiving when regard...
Where should I spend my $2000? Mapman-Not all tweaks are snake oil. "Always do what your afraid to do".(Emerson)
Where should I spend my $2000? Locate the weak link(s) in your system. IMO the cables are the weak link. What power cords are being used? Have not heard Def Techs(any models)in over 10+ years but can only assume these should also be replaced. Selling the Rotel and both speakers... |
