Aurender N100 internal hard drive or USB external drive?
The speed would be dictated by the streamer connection most likely it's either SATA II or SATA III either one would be plenty fast for audio. Main thing is the interface of SATA 2.5/7mm there are a lot of different ones.

I’ve had good luck with Samsung, crucial and WD ssds, according to their website it needs to be a SATA SSD 2.5/ 7mm. There’s 3 speeds I, II , III get the III it will run at whatever your streamer accepts and that’s the fastest and most common now....
Dumb break in question...
Just hook it up and enjoy the music.
Streaming Preamp without a built-in DAC
Everything I've seen will either have a DAC or if not can't do everything else you want. You could connect the newer Auralic Aries > DAC with volume control >amplifier

Can I use XLR to connect pre-amp to amp and RCA to connect pre-amp to sub?
Looking at the manual it looks like you could do what you want run balanced XLR to all the amps but the sub amp and run unbalanced RCA to the sub just don't run both XLR and RCA to the same amp.
Can I use XLR to connect pre-amp to amp and RCA to connect pre-amp to sub?
Does the preamp have sub out? Use whatever is supposed to connected there.
Higher End DACs
I guess engineers that design and build DACs, amplifiers, preamps, streamers, CD players, etc... never considered RF, EMI and other causes of distortion or interference that could pose problems they all assumed we would buy isolation boxes, rewire...

False dilemma fallacy, EITHER all these people hear it so the device really works OR it’s a conspiracy. There could be a third choice perhaps your tests are not controlled for biases, maybe you didn't match the sound level and louder was considere...

You must have a lousy internet provider soundtest to have enough latency to interfere with your music streaming. I can ping Baidu in China from the southeast US  from a wireless tablet between 79ms to 83ms. If your home network has enough Lan acti...

OK, I understand dmance now he's selling a $4000 box that eliminates RF that only bats could hear.

Just for the record the OP was asking about DACs and internet streaming since he said he didn't even have CDs. Why in the world anyone would need a computer that could run SQL server for a small company and yes I have personal experience is actual...

-200dB ? Noone hears that. I'm not saying  the computer mentioned above isn't a good product IMO it's a bit much for simply streaming over the internet. For running roon or other DB's I am sure they don't  even come close to stressing that comput...

What’s this a sales pitch for a over priced computer to stream Qobuz? If you really want to keep all that noise down have the server in a different room and connect through ethernet problem solved. CPU latency isn’t a problem streaming over the in...
