Using tube amp with electrostatic speakers. Most speakers have "roller coaster" impedance curves, and do just fine with most all tube and SS amps.Do not buy into this "theoretical nit picking" impedance BS. That does not matter much in the "real world" listening experience!
Using tube amp with electrostatic speakers. Without the ZERO’s Ralph’s amps sound poor with 80% of the speakers out in the world! How many people use Zero’s anyway? And those that do not, do just fine IMO!There are lots of tube amps that will sound fine on ML speakers without Zero’s.
Using tube amp with electrostatic speakers. atmasphere Why do you keep pushing ZERO? Are you PAYED BY THEM?Most all tube amps use output transformers with impedance taps that work just fine into 4 or 6 or even 16 ohms! The Zero is of NO VALUE to most tube amps!
Using tube amp with electrostatic speakers. Tube amps or tube/FET hybrids, work best with electrostatics IMO.I have never heard the Sanders.
Headphones that sound smooth and comfortable on a pillow? If you lay on your side all headphones will clash with the pillow.Lay on your back and you can use any headphone. There are speakers that fit under the pillow. They provide poor mono. Why not a bedside audio player?
Headphone or Rig? Many people do not like the "in your head" sound staging of a headphone.A SOTA headphone system (like a top Stax) with the right headphone amp, does have more detail, and better fidelity, than a top flight speaker system IMO. And no room interacti...

I need advice. Cap failures, can cause other components to fail.30 years is a good, long life, without failure.Your Sansui is living on borrowed time!I would get the caps replaced, if you like the Sansui, or want to sell it.
THE WALL---Why? Does your dealer sell the PS power plant? They want to sell you some other line conditioner that they carry IMO!Contact PS Audio for info on plugging in power amps.

What's the benefit of balanced tonearm cables? If your phono stage has XLR inputs, use XLR cables from cartridge to Phono stage. Will you get dead silence? Maybe! Will the choice of XLR cable affect the sound? Maybe?I use RCA phono cables to my Pass XOno (which has RCA inputs only). The cho... |
