Cornwall IV vs. Volti Rival, Razz; Razz v. 1, 2, 3 -- what changed? I have lived with my pair of Razz now for almost two years. I'm still madly in love with them. One of the biggest gains for me was their listenability. No piercing ear fatigue for me. (why they replaced a pair of Klipsch Heresy IV's). I got to li...
Final Decision On An Integrated Amp Agree completely on the Cary SLI 80HS. I’ve had mine for about a year, bought from Cary Direct during a sale. Had all of the modifications except the better binding posts, (which I kick myself now for not adding)... I have it paired with Volti Raz...
Accuphase or Leben for heavy metal Metalhead here about 50% of the time. The other half jazz, fusion jazz, classic rock, grunge, early American/ bluegrass. For me the right combination is a Cary SLI80HS (80 wpc) and a pair of Volti Razz (96db efficiency or there about). For me a sy...
Integrated for Cornwall IV Couple of pre owned Cary SLI80 and 300b integrated on AG and USAM. I’ve got an SLI80HS on my Volti and it’s a beautiful match. Also like the on the fly switch from Triode to UL whenever I’m inclined. My music tastes are right in line with OP. I al...
Your thoughts on best audiophile speakers in $10,000 neighborhood? @mbmi While my Volti are my choice, they do everything I want in a loudspeaker and more, I too was impressed with the Borresen's i listened to. Both the x3 and x1 monitors were clean, powerful and musical. They threw a wide and deep soundstage. I...
Your thoughts on best audiophile speakers in $10,000 neighborhood? @kennyc +1. You read my mind.
Starting a second system, need efficient speaker suggestions. @traudio if you are within a day drive of him I’d highly recommend making a visit. He’s a really good guy, fun to hang around with and shoot the crap. Great Mexican joint literally across the street too. I met up with him couple of months ago at t...
Starting a second system, need efficient speaker suggestions. OP, the pair of Razz @mapman found for sale on The Music Room's site look great ! Priced right I'd say, may even be able to bring them down a bit.
Starting a second system, need efficient speaker suggestions. Cary SLI80HS paired with Volti Razz at home for me. Awesome combination in my book. When I picked up my Razz from Greg at Volti he threw his Cary on my Razz as well as a pair of Rival and his new Vittora prototype. IT was a pretty fun experience. ...
T+A's new R 2500 R integrated amp @blisshifi I would tend to agree with you comparing the two. I felt the AP20 and Wilson combo to be a bit of a truth teller. Very clear dynamic and detailed (some heat from the highs and lows as you describe), a little dry for my taste. The T+A s...
T+A's new R 2500 R integrated amp At the show probably the closest and similar priced unit would be Aurender AP20 streaming some good music. It was also a simple set up with just the AP20 and a pair of Wilson Sabrina's. These two rooms were perhaps the easiest listening rooms I en...
T+A's new R 2500 R integrated amp I listened to this unit at the Florida show couple months ago and it was very impressive. the r2500r unit was powering the T+A 420 speakers, streaming and a VPI TT with that DS optical cartridge and dedicated phono pre. Open and airy, powerful pre...
Looking for... Integrated tube amp with phono Couldn't agree with you more @ericgale
Looking for... Integrated tube amp with phono Please don't get me wrong, I do agree that Rogue is not in the same league as CJ, VAC, BAT, Mac, Lux and even Cary. I believe Rogue fits into a close proximity sonically, and meets a mid fi need for lower cost/high value. All the way around my Car...
Looking for... Integrated tube amp with phono @ron325 i owned a Rogue Atlas 3 a couple years ago. That was a damn good amp. Well made, authoritative and musical sounding, built like a tank. I like Rogue as a company, they were always responsive when I had a question. Hard to go wrong there. |
