What is the added value of a streamer over a networked dedicated Computer
Dear readers I certainly do very much like to follow this discussion opened by napoleoninrags 16. Which is, bdw a VERY interesting 'call sign' used in this forum'😉 100%, + mapman In my system, there are totally 4 USB A-B connections (Oehlbach ...

@twoleftears thanks for your post. Perhaps, I don't understand your comment. Is there something 'wrong' as 'not correct' in his speech? Please elaborate, many thanks. BDW, I do like Darko's comment about tolerance towards the end of this video. E...

@anotherbob  To my knowledge, the 'certain sound quality' of an original CD is red book conform. Red book covers 'everything' a human being can hear. I notice that a well mastered/recorded CD sounds very, very good to my ears using my Myryad MXC...
Anyone else feel like it’s the Wild Wild West?
@rbstehno  I am using USB to DAC using JRiver. To my ears, it sounds very, very good. Would it sound 2000x better to my ears with a $2k streamer/DAC? Best, eagledriver
Rant against the industry with hopes for discussion on positive change
A lot of the ,new, generation simply is not interested in (even) decent hifi gear. As an example, the sons (30 and 32) of my partner do not even look at my music room, less spending time there. Altough it would be free of charge. Maybe they will 2...
Network Players and External DACs
Hi gregorybrown You very probably have closed this matter since a long time. However, I like to comment as follows: If I convert the .flac file to a .wav format using JRiver will the resulting .wav files be essentially the same as if I had rippe...
Any way to listen to wav or high bit files with anything approaching audiophile sound?
@soulgoober, How is your project doing? Did you find what you were looking for? Secondly, is there ANY way to listen to said music in anything remotely approaching audiophile sound quality?  Does it have to be a certain file type or bit rate? Is...
Setup Speakers Along Long Wall?
Setup Speakers Along Long Wall - room with sloping ceilings ____________________________________________________________ Your question no 2: Unfortunately, I cannot see your pics. Conditions in a room with slope ceilings are far from ideal....
How do you organize all this turntable paraphernalia??
I'm using a decommissioned vintage wooden cigar humidor. Looks nice and blends in to the environment. There are a lot of different kind of humidors on the market, used ones as well. From small to big, from cheap to expensive. Have a good day!
Can a DAC sort out a flat\cold amp?
OP, I do second your consideration regarding a DAC. I can imagine that the audio interface (which is primarily for home recording and/or dj-ing as far as I know) is, for some reason, the weak piece. IMO, it's not the amp nor the pc. In order to ...
Suggestions for a Phono Preamp.
@jay73  +1 @meliodes  Which cartridge do you have installed? I do owe the Moon 110lp since about 10 years and I am happy. End-user adjustable impedance loading (100 and 47k ohms). End-user adjustable capacitance loading (0 and 100pF). End-user...
Gapless
G'day zerofox What source/app are you using to bring the tracks to the DAC and then into the Krell? I hope I can support with this: Krell suggests using Twonky as the control software for your UPnP/DLNA server. I have a copy of this on one of m...
Making a digital "mixed tape"
OP, in addition to the above, here the tutorial to create a single file  - Drag the files you want to merge from Windows Explorer into the fre:ac window (below 'artist') - 'coding', 'coding options', mark 'code in one single file' - start the c...
Making a digital "mixed tape"
OP, I'm using JRiver since many years, it is not suited for your intended task. You may want to try fre:ac (www.freac.org). It's a free audio converter. The Windows version is available stand-alone from their website or from the Microsoft Store....
Usb or Optical
i cant get over 24/44   Nice DAC! I assume you have installed the DAC's driver. Did you try another music source to test?
