When I listen to my system....... Most of the modern age speakers tend to be more clinical and revealing with all kinds of detail and somehow people really like this, at least in the show room it’s impressive. But then when they take it back home and say wow this is very fatiguin...
Using a power strip in an old home that was build back in 1955 Really super bad idea to use a Power strip when you don’t have grounding. That’s a lot of competing forces going on and you could easily screw up. Run a few grounding wires in key areas. Peace of mind. You’ll never get a clear answer on this one...
Processor sound comparison- Anthem avm90 vs NAD M17 V2i nad processor I’ve had experience with has an interface that’s very easy to follow and not glitchy. Although still most interfaces have their quirky qualities because the people developing them have no insight into what mere humans experience when...
Processor sound comparison- Anthem avm90 vs NAD M17 V2i @audiotroy abn nvidea streamer? Can you please post the link having trouble finding it. I use an Apple TV 4K which is fine but wonder if there's anything better out there. heos from Marantz I agree is absolutely horrifying and I guess the...
Processor sound comparison- Anthem avm90 vs NAD M17 V2i Marantz processors are incredibly complicated and the independent channel capability is very limited. The interface is also quite disappointing. I have owned a Marantz processor and it's sitting on a shelf collecting dust. I think the sound was p...
Processor sound comparison- Anthem avm90 vs NAD M17 V2i @audiotroy Do you stream or are you playing Blu-ray? What is your source? thanks
Processor sound comparison- Anthem avm90 vs NAD M17 V2i @audiotroy I sort of sense the same thing these models were comparable and the nad probably scores more highly because it’s easier to use. Marantz processors are horrifying complicated. If you have more than seven channels, a maestro or trinov...
Mcintosh mc451 mono - anybody use this new dual amplifier? @steve59 I own a 611 pair and the need for dedicated outlet is not true. The actual power of these amps use is less than 100 W. A shared 15 amp circuit would work as long as it's not too crowded. Your hairdryer uses a lot more than this amplifier
Speaker wire impedance? Speaker impedance? Nobody understands this stuff, except for that guy sitting in the corner that nobody's talking to. Can you imagine if cookbooks started using the word impedance in their recipes. If you don’t understand what someone writes herein, its because th...
Mcintosh mc451 mono - anybody use this new dual amplifier? @lewl28 That's the spirit. But why stop there when you can have the MC 2K monos.
Mcintosh mc451 mono - anybody use this new dual amplifier? @lewl28 So you think the MC 3500 is better without ‘biamping’? How do you feel about biamping with the MC 600 600 W amplifier for the bass and tube amp for the upper drivers
Mcintosh mc451 mono - anybody use this new dual amplifier? Are you familiar with the 2 301? 901 Version of the 2301 has six small tubes per mono vs 2. They actually have solid state circuitry and the current 2301 model, where now on the 901 Version version it’s pure tube circuitry. Very strange why they ...
IsoAcoustics GAIA I like my 200 pound speakers with their casters. They’re on a solid wood floor. I see no need for these isolation things. Gotta be able to move the speakers around. I wish these isolation companies would come up with recessed casters as part of th...
Rectangular versus fancy design speakers? @gunderwood This is true but do the other more creative designs really help noticeably change sound. I have a rectangular speaker from 20 years ago, a very heavy piece of wood, and it does a great job transmitting sound throughout the room.
Rectangular versus fancy design speakers? harbeth seems nice. Rectangular speakers are generally a lot less than the fancy speakers is there a reason for this other than the looks? can anyone really tell the difference between rectangular speaker and one of those fancy shaped things? M... |
