2-way design vs. 3-way design means ? I thought it had to do with crossover design. ie The crossover is cut into three sections and therefore you can feed the three individualized signals to as many drivers you want. This is a three-way I guess To say how many drivers a speaker has ...
Moving from a stereo amp to a dual mono set up The wiring of the speaker to the back of the amplifier is kind of weird. So I guess it's not doing bi amp
Moving from a stereo amp to a dual mono set up @61falcon I thought you're supposed to keep all the circuits in the same phase for your system. As long as you don't have components Sharing different circuits ground loops should go away.
Moving from a stereo amp to a dual mono set up Every facet of change always meets with frustration. I don't understand the connections you're making on the back of the Mono. Is this A biamp exercise? Kind of confusing to my tiny mind.
I hate to say it, but now I think maybe I like my amp in ultralinear mode versus triode @mulveling A wonderful diagram. Very helpful. The accompanying commentary is helpful although back-and-forth discussion to further clarify what's going on is always good. It's an awareness exercise of all that goes on under the hood.
I hate to say it, but now I think maybe I like my amp in ultralinear mode versus triode @immatthewj Yes the link was very helpful. It's good that I am very intelligent and can understand these things. Thank you
Will one cable upgrade make a noticeable difference? I have transparent cables and also have the power isolator. I would call customer service in maine for insight. I found them especially helpful. Also got power cables from them as well and interconnects. Overall it makes me feel more comfortable...
I hate to say it, but now I think maybe I like my amp in ultralinear mode versus triode Ultra linear is a sexy term used by the manufacturer. Cary has not done a very good job to explain it on their website. I think they’re taking advantage of the technology to promote something that is questionable as to sonic credibility. It’s not...
I hate to say it, but now I think maybe I like my amp in ultralinear mode versus triode @immatthewj A technical reference to triode in marketing literature makes sense, it’s not sexy. Ultra linear Whatever it is that it does is a sexy marketing term. If it’s switchable that’s probably discouraging a lot of people from taking it ser...
I hate to say it, but now I think maybe I like my amp in ultralinear mode versus triode @mulveling @gs5556 @atmasphere Enjoyed reading all your comments to explain this technical area. Very difficult to understand things without a diagram and that’s what’s needed here. I think the term ultra linear is marketing in nature and I...
I hate to say it, but now I think maybe I like my amp in ultralinear mode versus triode Isn’t ul mode solid State? Doesn’t it make sense that more would be involved for solid State and that it would sound a little bit I think use of the word ultra linear is a marketing term and kind of dumb
System assessment... dsp is very frustrating to work with initially. The interfaces are horrifying to deal with. But if you think about what happens along curve if there are low spots or high spots that may tend to distort the overall signal, correcting these areas co...
Discerning a difference between streamers is difficult...only me or common for all? I bought a blue sound Device and for the price it was very good but on the cheap side. I bought a chord tt2 dac which was pretty good and had a lot of pretty lights on top. I then bought a lumin x1 which is a combined streamer/dac. I thought it ...

System assessment... DSP would be a good idea. At least get a view of what your curve looks like. Modifying things along the curve could be a really good thing. And then I'd buy a puppy |
