McIntosh MA12000 is it worth upgrading to.
No I did not, never pulled the trigger. And at the time Mc was offering full or 75 pct. of the retail price on the Mac.amp you owned if you upgraded. Could of bought it for about 9 or ten thousand.  But I kept the Mc452.good amp. I could not find ...
You're not a true audiophile unless...
A true audiophile can hear in music what most people can’t. When you can sit and feel the sound of a cymbal, bass or vocal. That can make you smile or chuckle to yourself. That's why spending and continuing to tweak a better system is so addicting.
Recommend me a tube integrated amplifier
A tube preamp will get you in the right direction. Someone mention in a earlier post  Crutchfield will let you try it for 60 days if you don't like the sound return it. Hopefully they carry something you would be interested in.
Ebay selling my missing amplifier
Back to shipping most packages get lost for two reasons. One, the package gets damaged. But mostly because the label gets ripped off or damaged and they can’t find a return or delivery address. Always include a second copy of your return address a...
Ebay selling my missing amplifier
Not so I retired from U.P.S. High value shipments usually over 5000 are put into cages, and must be signed and scanned.  The driver or loader puts it on the plane, truck or trailer, and it is scanned again .They can locate a package by the last em...
Does it have to sound good for you to like it?
We spend our time and money trying to build great sounding systems. There is nothing worse than playing a poor sounding CD,Record or music stream. It makes you stop and think how can I fix this. Interconnects, new speakers, amps soundproofing. Jus...

Cornwall IV vs. Volti Rival, Razz; Razz v. 1, 2, 3 -- what changed?
What I see here is Greg open his own business by copying Klipsch speakers. Someone is spreading falsehoods about his competition to help bolster his sales. Without hearing both sets of speakers together with the same songs and amps. I would not ju...
Cornwall IV vs. Volti Rival, Razz; Razz v. 1, 2, 3 -- what changed?
Your right about the grills but i fixed mine. From the back gently push on the material until it's free from the wood. it's tacky so let it go back freely it reseated itself. Hope it works for you
Cornwall IV vs. Volti Rival, Razz; Razz v. 1, 2, 3 -- what changed?
Don't believe everything said here. The klipsch cabs are not made in China My IVs are 3 years old look and sound amazing . Every upgrade whether better wires and interconnects only makes them sound better. Not knowing the quality of the  equipment,...
Cornwall IV vs. Volti Rival, Razz; Razz v. 1, 2, 3 -- what changed?
Just calm the CORN. IVs the with dynamo tape on the back of the horns and tweeters easy to do. You will love them no more harshness or brightness smooths them right out. There have been posts with references to this

Looking at a Mcintosh 275vi with upgraded gold lion tubes
Thanks for the feedback. So far one pro and one loves gold lions but didn't love them in the 275v. I would be using a stock MC70 tube preamp. With all the tube swapping out there I thought there would be more of a response  to this thread.
New expensive power cord for amp and no change in sound?
The improvements are all in your head . You spend a lot and expect a lot. Power is    power. In M.O. any decent manufacturer of good equipment would consider a minimal investment in power cords good business. This would be easy and inexpensive way...
