OK, I thought we were talking about the SL 1200G. I bought my 1200G shortly after they came out. I did the research and the consensus was that the tonearm mass was 12g. I found this information from several sources. I don't have the time now to do...

@12many Skip the used Node 2i and get the current model. You will be glad you did and the price difference is insignificant.

No, the Technics SL1200 tonearm has an effective mass of 12g The OEM headshell is 7.6g.

Streamer Upgrade
@curiousjim  I also have the new Node with Pontus II. I got the PD Creative board and  a Jay's Audio LPS. The Jay's LPS was more reasonable than S Booster especially since we are dealing with a $600 streamer.

@riskymilk I went from a Pass XP-15 to a PH 9.0X. I also experienced a wider soundstage and better detailed presentation. In my system, the 9.0X is quieter. The XP-15 is excellent, but overall I prefer the MW. Also, no more dip switches is a big p...

Thanks for all the responses. I had a feeling that the cartridge compliance specs could vary. I have a Shure trackability test record from the 80's that I will try. If not helpful, I will get a modern test record.

Lewm, I was hoping you'd respond. The tonearm mass is verified at 12 gr. For the cartridge I used the 1.7 multiplier to convert from Japanese spec.
