I went from Class D to Luxman A/AB - And most of what you think is wrong
A tidbit for the anti D crowd, recently a friend who has been out of town came by for a visit.  We used to jam quite a bit and he did not know my Krell Kav 250 died and is temporarily replaced by an Emotiva Gen3. While jamming he exclaimed that my...
What were some of your early Hi-End audio gear/influences?
There was no early high end only good, better and best. For me the good turned to better and then best..................................then came high end and again it's low, mid and high. Technology is the driving force and what used to be best i...
What DB level is best for judging audio equipment?
Most of my enjoyment (by myslf) comes at a level of 70 to 80db per Radio Shack SPL meter. Some (friends over) comes at 90 to 100 depending on the amount of liquid encouragement and we just love rock concert videos. Try it.........you'll like it. Lol.
Lexicon MC-12
I'm not surprised that you are having connection issues as every input must be specifically set up individually and has 3 options, coax, opt and analog. If the input configuration is not how your source is connected you will not hear a thing. Same...
Lexicon MC-12
Also to reset the unit to factory settings is a 2 man operation unless you have very long fingers. If you need to reset I can give you the instructions on how to. It's not in the manual.
Lexicon MC-12
Just very recently sold my very very nice MC12B with all the accessories. I can tell you that a remote is highly desirable in setting up the unit. It can be done on front Panel (as far as I know) but it's nearly impossible and cumbersome in the ex...
Home theater help from scratch 5.2 25k budget
Fwiw, for that amount of $$$ you can build one heck of a great HT. I'm in the seperates camp. I suggest you look into "demo" gear from authorized dealers.Full warranty comes with this type of purchase. I highly recommend tonality matched speakers,...
Can I use 2 two channel amps to run a 3 channel system? leaving one side of an amp unused
Sure you can
Audio output for a non-HDMI pre-amp
I would connect Hdmi from sources to TV and coaxial or optical connection on sources to the AV component. You would get video to TV and full HT audio 5.1/7.1 thru tell Mcintosh. I used this configuration until very recently with great results.
Indy Audio Labs Acurus Act4
@maxwave,  after discussion with customer support information was provided that volume control of the Act4 is independent of internal noise generator. Proceedures to set THX levels is to set volume to 72 then use the adjustments in the speaker set...
Directional cables - what does that really mean?
@geoffkait,  brother you crack me up, I just love partaking of your conversations. What's fascinating to me, that most of the time you even make sense. Genius or crackpot, I don't care , I'll enjoy your wisdom, lunacy, sarcasm or whatever wherever...
Indy Audio Labs Acurus Act4
@maxwave,  this may come as a surprise but after the setup in my environment without trying to get to the standard level of dB at listening position I forgot all about the THX standard. It sounds so superb I'm wondering if it even matters. I will ...
Best multi channel amp and processor good for 2 channel listening.
Best processor I've heard for either multi or 2 channel listening to date is hands down the Acurus Act 4. Absolutely superb! At least in my listening environment.
Indy Audio Labs Acurus Act4
I've had my Act4 now for 15 days and am still amazed at the sound and video quality it presents. Did some minor setup in my room and am beyond thrilled with my purchase. No I would not say that it has all the features or settings that many other b...
Whats playing on your system today?
Fleetwood Mac - The Dance, concert DvD. Totally awesome, prior to Tribute to Jim Capaldi and Albert Lee with JR Vaughn. Accompanied with red wine and a fizzled tropical storm called Barry. Twas a good evening.
